Job description
Overview

Levitt-Safety is looking for experienced and safety-driven HVAC Technicians to join our team in Fort McMurray, AB.

This role offers a highly desirable compressed work schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hour shifts with company-paid housing for fly-in / fly-out employees OR a monthly housing allowance for local employees.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair mobile HVAC systems on heavy-duty industrial and off-road equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and complete preventative maintenance on A / C systems in accordance with OEM specifications.
  • Track and manage service vehicle inventory, anticipating customer needs and minimizing downtime.
  • Cross-train and assist with the inspection, service, and installation of vehicle fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers.
  • Provide in-shop support and contribute to overall team operations when required.
  • Promote and maintain a safety-first culture, completing all required inspections, certifications, and adhering to company safety policies.
  • Be an active contributor in the ongoing development of Job Hazard Analyses and follow Safe Work Practices as described.
  • Other duties as required including support of other Levitt-Safety branches throughout Canada.
Job Requirements
  • You will possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the maintenance of mobile air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment on heavy-duty mining equipment or related equipment.
  • Valid red seal certification (Journeyman) in any of the following trades will be considered:
  • Truck and trailer technician
  • Heavy equipment technician
  • Refrigeration and air conditioning Tech (HVAC) with experience working on mobile equipment
  • Previous experience or training with fire equipment servicing is an asset.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment and periodic pre-access drug & alcohol testing to meet customer site requirements.

Safety Compliance
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs unassisted, coupled with good hand / eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Work in restricted spaces such as engine compartments
  • Work on heights on large mine equipment using ladders and walkways
  • Driving and sitting for extended periods of time
  • Frequent walking on uneven terrain on customer sites
  • Professional, reliable and safety-focused
