Education: Trade certificate or diploma. Hold valid journeyman or apprentice status as a Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Mechanic or Sheet Metal Worker.

Work Experience: Min 1 year of experience as HVAC/Refrigeration service technician

Job Duties:

1. Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
2. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools.
3. Measure and cut piping, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
4. Install, troubleshoot and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
5. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices.
6. Recharge system with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance or servicing.
7. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems.
8. May install, maintain and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks used to transport food or medical supplies.
9. Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues efficiently and accurately.
10. Repair and maintain HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners and ventilation systems, both in commercial and residential environments.
11. Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
12. Install new HVAC equipment following industry standards and safety regulations.
13. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
14. Operate and maintain company tools and equipment safely while following company policies and procedures.
15. Be punctual and reliable.
16. Keep current with the latest HVAC technologies and industry trends.
17. May prepare work estimates for clients.

Requirements:

1. Min 1 year of experience as HVAC/Refrigeration service technician.
2. Hold valid journeyman or apprentice status as a Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Mechanic or Sheet Metal Worker.
3. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
4. Knowledge of HVAC systems, components and regulations.
5. Knowledge of pumps, boilers and hydronic systems are an asset.
6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
7. Excellent customer service skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Valid class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation.
10. Organized.
