How you will contribute

• Train and perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites.
• Participate in certified training through the Service Technical Academy to develop skills, with opportunities for recognition, rewards, and advancement.
• Develop troubleshooting skills and customer service abilities through coaching and mentorship.
• Keep JCI, contractors, and customers informed about job progress and issues.
• Attend required union training during the first year.
• Provide recommendations to improve facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
• Prepare quotes supporting your recommendations and solutions.
• This is a Union Bargaining Position

Qualifications we seek

• At least 1 year of industry experience or experience servicing mechanical HVAC systems.
• Membership in Plumbers & Pipefitters UA Local Union No 488 or willingness to join, as this is a union apprentice role.
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site prep, and peripheral equipment.
• Effective interpersonal skills to professionally represent Johnson Controls.
• Leadership skills to support team activities on non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Commitment to safety in all aspects.
• Valid and clean driver’s license required.
• Overnight travel may be necessary.

Preferred qualifications

• 2nd or 3rd Refrigeration/HVAC Apprentice.
• Additional certification in trades such as Plumbing, Electrical, Sheet Metal, or Gas Fitting is a plus.
• 1-2 years of technical education or trade school experience.
