GDI Ainsworth in Mississauga is seeking HVAC/R Project Journeymen to join our growing project team. You will work on commercial, industrial and institutional projects, advancing your career in a professional, safety-focused environment with strong teamwork.

You will install equipment, perform piping work, support commissioning, and document work accurately while communicating with supervisors, contractors and clients. Join us to contribute to high quality projects and mentoring of apprentices.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification 313A is required.
• G1 Gas Technician License is required.
• UA Local 787 membership in good standing is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent work ethic with a strong commitment to safety.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent math and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lift heavy materials, tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC/R equipment and components.
• Perform piping installations, repairs, and system modifications.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities.
• Work on complex HVAC and mechanical projects in the GTA and surrounding areas.
• Maintain accurate work documentation and reports.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, teammates, contractors, and clients.
• Represent the company professionally on job sites.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety rules.
• Mentor indentured apprentices.
• Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Job Summary

GDI Ainsworth is currently looking for HVAC/R Project Journeymen to join our growing project team. This role is ideal for an individual looking to advance their career in a professional, safety-focused, and supportive environment. The successful candidate will work alongside project team members on commercial, industrial and institutional projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of HVAC/R-related equipment and components.
• Perform piping installations, repairs, and system modifications in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Support commissioning and start-up activities
• Work on complex HVAC and Mechanical projects throughout the GTA and surrounding areas
• Maintain accurate work documentation and reports
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, teammates, contractors, consultants, and clients
• Represent the company professionally on all job sites
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety, Environmental company policies, Government legislation/regulations and union requirements.
• Contribute to the ongoing training and mentoring of indentured apprentices.
• Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

• Able to maintain RCMP, Public Works Reliable clearance status
• Must be able to lift heavy materials, tools and equipment when required.

The pay range is $62.40 per hour. The compensation for this position is as per the collective agreement.
