Job summary

A leading HVAC services company is seeking a skilled technician for site work in Alberta. The role involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems, following safety protocols, and working effectively with teams. Candidates must hold valid HVAC certifications and a clean driving record. This position offers camp accommodations and requires 12-hour shifts in a 14/14 schedule, with a commitment to travel to the site independently.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License required.
  • Clean Driver's Abstract with no more than 6 demerit points.
  • General safety certifications must be obtained before commencing work.
  • Willingness to travel to site and work on shift schedule.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Diagnose and maintain equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Install and construct new HVAC infrastructure as needed.
  • Communicate findings and actions to supervisors and crew on site.
  • Document inspections, maintenance, and installations and updates.

Job description

Location - CNOOC Long Lake

Shift Schedule - 14/14 - 12 Hour day shift

Camp Accommodations provided

Employee must travel to site on their own

Trade / Scope Specific responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  1. Inspection of existing heating, refrigeration and air conditioning infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  2. Diagnose condition of existing heating, refrigeration and air conditioning infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  3. Perform preventative maintenance on existing “trade” infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  4. Recommend best-fit solutions for existing “trade” infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  5. Service and repair existing “trade” infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  6. Construction of new heating, refrigeration and air conditioning infrastructure.
  7. Assembly and installation of new and replacement heating, refrigeration and air conditioning infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  8. Communication of inspections, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service / repair, and installation of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  9. Documentation of inspections, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service / repair, and installation of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  10. Follow safety guidelines, approved processes and procedures on the job site.
  11. Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to minimize disruptions and maximize productivity.
  12. Work cohesively with teams of employees or contractors.
  13. Communicate in a polite and courteous manner.

Please note the successful candidate will be required to pass a drug and alcohol and fit for work exam.

Applicants must already hold the following certifications to be eligible for this position. If the successful candidate does not already possess these certifications, they will be required to obtain them at their own expense prior to commencing work.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Valid Drivers Abstract - No more than 6 demerit points
  • Valid HVAC Journeymans Certificate
