North American Trade Schools is seeking a dynamic individual to join our HVAC department as an instructor. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the trade and relevant certifications (G2 minimum). If you are passionate about helping others achieve their goals, this role may be for you!

Position Summary

The instructor is responsible for modeling behavior in both classroom and lab settings to help students reach their academic potential. They must combine real-world knowledge with a curriculum aligned with the institution's core values.

Essential Functions

• Deliver curriculum via lectures (virtual and in-person)
• Utilize CRM and LMS software as required
• Take daily attendance and follow up to meet retention goals
• Record and submit grades timely
• Provide student support outside of class
• Participate in orientations, faculty meetings, and ceremonies
• Stay current with industry trends and maintain certifications
• Exhibit professional behavior and represent the school in the community
• Collaborate with Career Services for student employment readiness
• Treat all staff and students with respect and without bias
• Create organized lesson plans and manage conflicts
• Update students and staff with news and content
• Conduct employer visits, field trips, and invite guest speakers
• Support students requiring accommodations
• Engage in ongoing professional development
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Campus Director

Position Requirements

• At least 48 months of work or teaching experience in the trade within the last 10 years, or 24 months plus additional qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from a Canadian university or equivalent, or graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology, or registered PCC, or hold a Certificate of Qualification under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act
• Provide two references verifying relevant work / teaching experience
• Proficiency with computers and administration systems, especially Microsoft Office; LMS experience is an asset
• Experience in adult education and private career colleges is preferred but not essential
