Jacobs is seeking an HV Underground Transmission Engineer to lead and support high‑voltage cable design and installation projects. You will collaborate with regional and global experts to deliver technically rigorous results for transmission and renewable clients in North America.
The role requires thorough knowledge of HV cabling, IEC/IEEE/CIGRE standards, and experience with CYMCAP. A PE license or ability to obtain it within 6 months is a plus, and travel across North America is expected.

The energy industry, particularly transmission grids, is undergoing major changes to accommodate for regional and global demand growth, decarbonization and energy transition targets. Underground and subsea cable technology are, in particular, increasingly becoming a major player in this energy paradigm shift to enable large-scale and long-distance power transmission.
As an HV Underground Transmission Engineer, you will work closely with regional and global transmission and cable experts within Jacobs to support and/or lead ongoing projects as well as business development and proposal support with a variety of clients including renewable developers, transmission owner/developers as well as utilities.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate related experience and technical knowledge in the field of underground transmission, cable engineering design and installation, with emphasis on high voltage applications (69kV and above), through experience with consulting engineering firms, developers and/or direct exposure to OEMs. Knowledge of electrical design/studies, functional/technical specifications, and/or FAT/SAT commissioning related to cable systems is preferred.
