Ambient Home Care is seeking dedicated Human Service Counsellors to support safe, structured court‑ordered supervised visits between children and their families. This role is ideal for individuals committed to child welfare, family support, and trauma‑informed care.
Supervise and monitor parent‑child visits in accordance with court orders, safety plans, and agency guidelines
Transportation of child to and from the supervised visit, in some cases
Maintain a safe, child‑focused environment during all supervised visits
Provide emotional and behavioural support to children before, during, and after visits
Document accurate, objective visit reports for social workers and legal partners
Communicate with caregivers, caseworkers, and community professionals
Use de‑escalation, conflict‑resolution, and trauma‑informed strategies to manage safety concerns
Uphold confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards
Diploma or degree in Human Services, Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Psychology, or related field or more than 5 years proven experience in this field.
Experience working with children, families, or vulnerable populations
Strong skills in documentation, observation, communication, and crisis intervention
Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and trauma‑informed practice
Ability to remain calm, neutral, and professional in high‑emotion situations
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Clear Drivers abstract, if transporting clients
Ability to work some evenings or weekends as needed
Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
