The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires one (1) Human Resources Professional with expertise in employee, payroll, and labour relations matters. This individual should be self-motivated, organized, and possess excellent strategic decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills. The Human Resources Professional will lead the development and implementation of HR technology solutions within the Enterprise Commons project, playing a critical role in providing HR & Payroll support and shaping HR strategy throughout the project development.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice to the Enterprise Commons (EC) Project team on policies, collective agreements, legislation, and employment terms.
- Collaborate with the EC Project team to offer guidance on HR & Payroll deliverables, investigating solutions and supporting business decisions.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including supervisors and employees, to foster a positive employee/labour relations environment.
- Develop and review deliverables such as business requirements, prototypes, process models, specifications, user guides, and training materials for EC systems and processes.
- Support from an HR & Payroll perspective in reviewing EC project deliverables, including testing scripts, user guides, and providing user support and training.
- Act as the EPS liaison to the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Public Library, and external consultants.
- Participate in HR projects to develop initiatives, programs, and resources aimed at improving organizational effectiveness.
- Identify gaps in processes and contribute to developing resolutions.
- Create a product roadmap outlining HR solutions, timelines, and outcomes.
- Organize and facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops.
- Manage HR data effectively, ensuring security, privacy, governance, and quality.
- Lead HR solution implementations, including planning, risk management, and change management.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance HR strategies to maintain relevance and effectiveness.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or degree in business administration, commerce, human resources management, Payroll Leadership Professional, or related discipline.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- CPHR Designation is an asset.
- Minimum of five (5) years of diverse, progressive HR experience.
- Experience in project management, development, and application implementation.
- Knowledge of attendance management, performance management, labour law, and organizational tools.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with HR and Payroll systems like PeopleSoft, SAP, Org Plus, and CARM is an asset.
- Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

Hours of Work: 36.9 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Hours may vary under the variable hours of work program.
Salary Range: $99,565.01 - $124,454.34 annually, Salary Grade: PT2.
