Job summary

PCL Construction Management Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Student for the Edmonton Buildings district, within the Canadian Buildings sector, for a 4 or 8 month term starting in January 2027.

The role offers exposure to recruitment, training coordination and health & wellness initiatives while gaining hands-on HR experience in a major Canadian building context. You will assist with planning and coordinating career fairs, training logistics, and confidential personnel activities, while

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Able to proactively anticipate needs and follow-up items for the team.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality required of work assignments.
  • Independent and resourceful in accomplishing day-to-day tasks and assignments.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment and training coordination for student programs.
  • Assist with planning and executing career fairs.
  • Assist with training coordination and facilitates course set-up.
  • Support the team by preparing for daily events and follow-up actions (e.g. scheduling and coordinating meetings, maintaining action lists and reminders).
  • Support activities requiring confidentiality and accuracy in documentation.
  • Prepare confidential correspondence, reports and other documentation.
  • Assist with student program reporting and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources major
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with various computer programs such as the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Able to proactively anticipate needs and follow-up items for the team
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality required of work assignments
  • Independent and resourceful in accomplishing day-to-day tasks and assignments
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism
