Job description

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for thesuccessful coordination and delivery of all day-to-day Human Resources andemployee programs providing advice, consulting and interpretation across all theareas of Human Resources.

Hours of Work : Part-time, 3 Days perweek; approx. 24 hours a week

Work Location : In our Edmonton Office(11660 170 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5S 1J7)

Salary : Commensurate with Experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

HumanResources

  • Administers performance management processes, employee training andcompletes various management reports. Provideshands-on support in other HR areas, as required, including recruitment and exitinterviews.
  • Provides coaching and support in delivering HR services and programs tothe organization. Recommends initiativesthat support HR best practises.
  • Collaborates with Service Canada on the LMIA application process,working with an outside agency for full cycle recruitment support.
  • DevelopsHR policies, programs and practices. Createsand maintains a process to ensure policies are circulated, communicated andoutdated policies / practices are revised.
  • Seeksopportunities to continually enhance key HR Business Processes.
  • Maintains knowledgeof all employment related legislation and regulations for the province ofAlberta and Saskatchewan.
  • Maintains contactand service relationships with third party providers.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Experience and education :

  • 5+ years of HumanResources Experience
  • Bachelors Degreein Human Resources or Related Discipline
  • Recent experienceworking with Service Canada, the LMIA process, and recruitment of foreignworkers

Knowledge and skills :

  • High level of attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve
  • Strong verbal and written English communication is required
  • Ability to work independent within a team is required
  • Seeking new ideas and finding efficiencies to improve is considered an asset
