About the Role

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on General Human Resources Specialist / Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and compliance. This role will be instrumental in shaping our company culture, supporting business objectives, and driving HR best practices as we scale.

You’ll have the opportunity to build and optimize HR processes, collaborate with leadership, and make a direct impact on our expanding organization.

This is a full-time, in-person role based in Vancouver, BC, reporting to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Talent Acquisition
    1. Manage and execute the full-cycle recruitment process for roles across North America, from job postings to hiring.
    2. Work closely with hiring managers to understand talent needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies.
    3. Partner with external recruiters and agencies to source and attract top talent.
    4. Ensure a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for new hires, providing them with the necessary tools and training for success.
    5. Develop and maintain an employer branding strategy to position Sonic Incytes as an employer of choice in the medtech industry.
  2. HR Policies & Compliance
    1. Develop and implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws.
    2. Manage workplace safety and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
    3. Handle employee records, contracts, and HR documentation with confidentiality and accuracy.
  3. Employee Relations & Culture
    1. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment aligned with Sonic Incytes’ mission and values.
    2. Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and resolution.
    3. Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
    4. Lead exit interviews and use insights to improve retention and workplace culture.
    5. Manage performance review process to support employee growth and development.
    6. Work with managers to provide coaching and career development opportunities to enhance employee skills.
  4. Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support
    1. Administer compensation and benefits programs to remain competitive in the industry.
    2. Collaborate with finance and payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely processing.
    3. Conduct market research and make recommendations for salary structures and incentives.
  5. Strategic HR
    1. Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives and support company growth.
    2. Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on HR best practices and workforce planning.
    3. Drive organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions during periods of growth or restructuring.
  6. HR Systems & Data Management
    1. Maintain and improve HRIS systems to track employee records, performance, and engagement metrics.
    2. Use data analytics to inform HR strategies and business decisions.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR generalist or HR leadership role, preferably in a growth-stage company.
  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in full-cycle recruitment, including working with external recruiters.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian and familiarity with U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple HR functions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also thriving in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation:

  • Competitive Salary: Between $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
