Human Resources Operations Assistant (Contract) - Post Secondary Summer Student Opportunity

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 38,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

General Description Of Duties

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resource Services supporting departmental process improvement initiatives. Some functions of this role include:

  • Support with internal workflow documentation to improve departmental efficiencies in alignment with internal auditor recommendations;
  • Reviewing our departmental onboarding, orientation and staffing processes in alignment with internal auditor recommendations;
  • Support with HRIS data entry projects;
  • Carry out ad hoc research projects as assigned;
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled in relevant post-secondary program (Human Resources, Business, Legal Studies or a related field of studies).
  • Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Salary: $25.00/hour, plus vacation pay in accordance with Employment Standards Act.

Duration of Placement: June 23, 2025 to August 15, 2025

Work Location: Board Office, 35 Weber Street W, Kitchener, ON

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm (35 hours per week)
