KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Officer, Recruitment and Benefits performs all aspects of recruitment and benefit administration for the organization. This position is responsible for coordinating the various human resource functions including but not limited to recruitment and staffing, labour relations, classification, compensation, benefits administration, and employee counseling. This position provides back-up support to the payroll function.


QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants require a comprehensive knowledge of diverse human resources practices coupled with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to perform independently, utilizing sound judgment, is essential.

The position requires a university degree in human resources, labour relations, and/or a related field, along with a minimum of five years related experience in human resources, preferably in a unionized environment. A professional designation such as CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) or equivalent is preferred.


SALARY

The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $116,529 per annum, along with a comprehensive benefit package, including a monthly housing and vacation travel allowance totalling $450 per month, and a defined benefit pension plan.
