Job summary

GDI Ainsworth in Mississauga, ON is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager reporting to the Director to provide strategic and operational HR support across talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, compensation, and organizational effectiveness.

You will partner with leaders to drive people strategies, coach on design and workforce planning, oversee performance reviews, ensure compliance, and foster an inclusive culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business admin, industrial relations, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Experience in multi-site or complex environments preferred.
  • Experience managing employee relations, performance management, and talent initiatives.
  • Prior experience supporting a unionized workforce.
  • Experience partnering with leaders at various organizational levels.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with UKG HRIS and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support business objectives.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Support change management initiatives and organizational transformation efforts.
  • Analyze workforce trends and recommend solutions to address business needs.
  • Partner with leaders to identify talent needs and workforce capabilities.
  • Facilitate performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Support regional and global development initiatives.
  • Provide advice and support to leaders and employees on workplace issues, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including performance concerns, accommodations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.
  • Support annual compensation review processes.
  • Identify training and development needs within assigned client groups.
  • Facilitate training sessions as required.
  • Interpret and apply employment standards, human rights, privacy, and workplace policies and procedures.
  • Analyze employee feedback and engagement survey results.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational Human Resources support that aligned with GDI Ainsworth organizational objectives. This role partners with leaders and employees to provide guidance and expertise across talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, compensation, organizational effectiveness, compliance, and employee engagement. As a trusted advisor, the Human Resources Manager supports business leaders in fostering a positive workplace culture, leading organizational change initiatives, and ensuring HR programs, policies, and practices are effectively implemented across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems preferred (UKG) and Microsoft Office applications.

The salary range is $105,000 - $125,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data. The base salary is just one component of Ainsworth’s total compensation package, which also includes additional rewards and benefits such as short-term incentives and health insurance, among others.
