Base pay range

CA$110.00/yr - CA$135.00/yr

Position: Human Resources Manager

Arpac is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support our Alberta and BC operations. You will be responsible for managing employee relations, injury management, leading our safety program, providing legal counsel to employees and leaders, and managing the HR department's daily operations.

Requirements
  • HR professional with at least 7+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Human Resources
  • Exposure to the forklift industry (or similar) is an asset
  • Must be available to work on-site
Responsibilities
Human Resources and Employee Support
  • Conduct meetings with management regarding performance, breaches, and exit interviews/terminations
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, breaches, violence, harassment, discrimination, and bullying reports
  • Proactively raise issues with management, suggest practical solutions, and help develop/implement action plans
Safety Program Management
  • Perform site tours to identify safety improvements and ensure safe work practices
  • Manage ongoing COR requirements and internal audits
  • Review and approve accident investigations, recommend corrective actions, and follow up
  • Review and approve contractor compliance packages and liaise with contractors
Injury Management
  • Manage BC WorkSafe and Alberta WCB accounts
  • Oversee accident investigations and follow-up across branches
  • Manage LTD and medical claims (non-WCB)
Legislative/Legal Compliance
  • Provide consistent advice and coaching on employee/employer relations, attendance, performance management, discipline, hiring, and termination legislation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and advise management accordingly
Day-to-Day Operations
  • Attend safety meetings in Alberta and BC
  • Travel periodically to Calgary and Vancouver branches
