About the OpportunityWuikinuxv Nation is looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager, for a 1-year contract role with the possibility of extension. Please note that we are a remote community in the Central Coast region of B.C., accessible by boat or plane from Port Hardy. The successful candidate will be required to be on-site for a minimum of 1 week per month.
Working with the Governance Director, you will play a key role in modernizing HR practices, developing policies and procedures that support and protect staff, and helping position Wuikinuxv Nation as an employer of choice. This is a hands-on role with broad HR generalist responsibilities, ideal for someone with experience supporting First Nations organizations or governments.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
To qualify, you will need a post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, and a valid Class 5 driver’s license. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an HR generalist or HR management role will also be essential. While certification is not required, candidates working toward their CPHR designation are encouraged to apply.
