SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Manager, Human Resources, Camp and Administration.

About Your New Role:

Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide confidential leadership, guidance, oversight and direction in the areas of Human Resources, Site Administration and Camp Operations. This will be accomplished through accurate interpretation and implementation of all relevant legislation, corporate and site policies.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, guide and operationalize the development and implementation of the site’s human resources culture, systems, and policies.
  • Ensure that all SGO’s operational activities are in accordance with the applicable labour laws, standards and regulations set forth by the Company.
  • Develop strategies that support growth of the business; provide recommendations on how to improve retention of key talent and positive employee engagement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic direction for the operation.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and strategic business plan process; plans for and uses resources efficiently and ensures budget is accurate and adhered to for HR, Camp and Administration services.
  • Work closely with corporate and site stakeholders to ensure the camp, administration and HR services are running effectively and are in line with the Company’s values of Safety First, Always, Better Together and Be Excellent.
  • Direct responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Safety leadership in the field across all site functions
    • Oversight of talent acquisition
    • Compensation planning and market evaluations
    • Talent development and succession planning
    • Annual performance review cycle
    • Leadership development and support of personal development plans
    • Planning, assigning, and directing work per the site's annual plan

Your Knowledge and Skills:

  • The successful candidate will have a blend of HR-specific knowledge, business acumen, and interpersonal skills. This will include expertise in areas like talent acquisition, employee relations, leadership development, compensation, flight and camp operations, along with strong communication, leadership, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong sense of management accountability and possessing skills to lead others to effectively perform their duties.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and Provincial Employment Regulations.
  • Advanced MS Office skills along with working knowledge/proficiency of HR systems such as Workday, SAP, ADP.

Your Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business.
  • Ten+ years’ experience leading the HR function, ideally in a site-based role with strong working knowledge of multi-discipline HR functions including employee relations and organizational strategy development.
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.
  • Certified Professional HR (CPHR) designation is recommended.

About Our Working Conditions:

This position has a schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off (Monday to Thursday) at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
