As the Human Resources Manager, you will oversee the full spectrum of HR services, drive consistency across policies and practices, and lead a talented HR team. Reporting directly to the VP of Human Resources, you'll serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership—ensuring HR initiatives align with business goals while fostering a culture of excellence, engagement, and compliance.

This role supports approximately 200 employees and plays a critical part in organizational change management initiatives across the company.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Act as a trusted advisor in guiding teams through organizational change and transformation initiatives .
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver HR strategies that support workforce planning, performance, and employee engagement.
  • Facilitate HR communications and lead employee relations and engagement initiatives.
  • Support operations management with Collective Bargaining Agreement and Company policy interpretation and craft appropriate grievance responses.
  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process—ensuring a high-quality candidate and employee experience.
  • Champion employee retention by developing forward-thinking engagement and incentive strategies.
  • Analyze and present monthly HR metrics and reporting in alignment with departmental budgets.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the daily activities of the HR function.
  • Support the VP of HR in implementing standardized HR processes.
  • Design and deliver leadership and soft skills training to enhance workforce capability.
  • Maintain compliance with employment legislation and internal HR standards through regular audits and policy updates.
  • Handle employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and investigations with integrity and confidentiality.
  • Support employment contract development & reviews of HR-related negotiations in partnership with leadership teams.
  • Administer compensation programs, including salary reviews, incentive plans, and benefits.
  • Ensure a compliant, inclusive, and respectful work environment.

Skills and Experiences :

  • Strong understanding of Canadian employment legislation, Union laws, and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in talent acquisition, workforce planning, and employee development.
  • Proven experience in union labor relations (5+ years preferred).
  • Experience leading or supporting organizational change management efforts.
  • Prior leadership experience in an HR management role (3–5 years minimum).
  • Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to problem solving and execution.

Education :

This position involves both office work and occasional facility visits; reasonable physical activity may be required (e.g., walking, standing, occasional lifting under 25 lbs.)
