HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER (PART-TIME, 20 to 24 HOURS/WEEK) – 15-MONTH CONTRACT

THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the CEO, Americas, the Human Resources Manager will serve as the primary HR partner for our Canadian and U.S. teams during a 15-month contract.
This part-time role (20 hours per week) is responsible for employee relations, benefits administration, HR operations, compliance, and manager support. The successful candidate will also oversee the HR Assistant and support the effective delivery of HR services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Relations & HR Partnership (50%)
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers across Canada and the United States.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, conflict resolution, investigations, and policy interpretation.
- Lead workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, performance improvement plans, and employee relations initiatives.
- Manage accommodations, leaves of absence, disability cases, return-to-work programs, and related documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices across Canada, particularly in Quebec and Ontario.
- Support employee engagement, inclusion, wellbeing, and workplace culture initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to address employee relations risks.
Benefits, Insurance & HR Administration (30%)
- Administer group insurance, retirement savings plans, wellness initiatives, and leave programs.
- Act as the primary liaison with benefits, payroll, and external HR partners.
- Manage short-term disability, long-term disability, parental leave, and other leave administration processes.
- Coordinate immigration and work authorization processes as required.
HR Operations & Team Support (20%)
- Provide guidance and oversight to the HR Assistant.
- Support recruitment coordination, onboarding, and offboarding activities.
- Lead HR projects related to compliance, employee experience, and process improvement.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Strong employee relations, conflict resolution, and coaching skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with employees and leaders.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including significant employee relations experience.
- Experience administering benefits, disability programs, and leave management.
- Experience supporting managers through performance management, investigations, and complex employee relations matters.
