    Position Scope: Reporting to senior leadership, the HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources for a growing and evolving business. This role is crucial in supporting both current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and retention of employees. The HR Manager will collaborate with management to develop, implement, and monitor HR strategies and policies that align with the overall business strategy.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, and monitor HR strategies and policies that align with the overall business strategy. Ensure that HR initiatives support the company’s goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate closely with leaders and supervisors, offering coaching, tools, and resources to effectively address employee relations concerns.
    • Provide expert advice on HR-related topics to managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure legal compliance.
    • Design and oversee compensation plans in collaboration with senior management. Manage benefit and RRSP programs, including the annual renewal process, and partner with providers to maintain competitive and relevant offerings. Oversee full-cycle payroll and benefit renewals
    • Lead recruitment efforts for salaried and management positions, and oversee hourly recruitment. Coordinate with external recruitment agencies as necessary. Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
    • Develop and implement training and development programs with a focus on adult learning techniques.
    • Administer the performance management process, ensuring consistent application of reviews and salary adjustments. Develop succession planning with employees and management.
    • Supervise the HR team, including the HR Generalist and Payroll & Benefits Specialist. Provide leadership and direction to the HR team to ensure high performance and professional development.
    • Manage the termination process for both voluntary and involuntary terminations, ensuring legal compliance. Address legal matters and disciplinary issues with a comprehensive understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
    • Organize employee engagement activities such as events, food trucks, and holiday parties to foster a positive work environment.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

    Required Skills and Knowledge:

    • Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment.
    • Proven track record of partnering with Operations Teams to provide support and counsel.
    • Strong ability to navigate legal challenges and disciplinary issues.
    • Ability to embrace challenges and adapt to a dynamic and growing business environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with employees at all levels and handle demanding environments.
    • Extensive experience with full-cycle payroll and benefits management.

    Education and Experience:

    • An undergraduate degree in business or human resources is preferred.
    • Must have 6+ years of progressive HR Management experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry. Steel industry experience is a plus.
