Job summary

A human resources solutions provider in Edmonton is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead HR initiatives. You will advise on employee relations, manage union negotiations, and ensure compliance with labour laws. This is a fully onsite position with a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $140,000 per year.

Job description

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise managers and supervisors on employee relations and HR best practices
  • Provide guidance on employment legislation and conflict resolution
  • Manage relationships with labour unions, including grievance handling and collective agreement administration
  • Lead arbitration preparation and union negotiations
  • Develop strategies to attract diverse talent and oversee recruitment and onboarding
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, including health insurance and pension plans
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain HR policies
  • Present HR metrics and insights to leadership
  • Support change management and HRIS implementation projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including unionized environments
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian labour laws and HR practices across provinces
  • Experience managing collective agreements and union negotiations
  • Familiarity with benefits administration and pension programs
  • Proficiency in English and conversational French
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ADP or similar HRIS platforms
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching abilities
  • Experience with organizational change and system implementations
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and self-motivated
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems in a dynamic environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
