Role Description

ERA is seeking a skilled professional to join our growing team as a fractional (50%) Human Resources Manager. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, and human resource strategy creation and execution. The Human Resource Manger reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and update HR strategies, policies, and procedures to support organizational goals and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and orientation of new employees.
  • Manage employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, conducting investigations, and facilitating effective communication between staff and management.
  • Liaise with the People & Culture Committee at ERA to ensure prioritization aligns with the Committee’s and ERA Executive’s work.
  • Design and administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, feedback, and development plans.
  • Identify training and development needs; coordinate and deliver learning programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HRIS data, and personnel files in accordance with privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Advise and coach managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with labour laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture and improve retention.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to inform business decisions and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate organizational changes and support change management initiatives.
  • Oversee workplace health, safety, and wellness programs.
  • Manage HR budgets and vendor relationships, including recruitment agencies, benefits providers, and training consultants, if applicable.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to organizational development initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proven working experience as an HR Manager or another HR leadership role
  • People-oriented and results-driven
  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
  • Knowledge of HR systems and leveraging technology
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices
Location

This role will operate as a fractional (50%) role and is expected to be a combination of remote work and in-office presence as required in ERA’s Edmonton or Calgary offices.

Compensation

ERA offers competitive compensation in addition to opportunities for personal and professional achievement. The compensation for this position would be on a retainer basis between $5,200 – $6,000 per month, depending on experience.
