Job Purpose

The Human Resources Generalist performs a range of duties supporting department managers and the Human Resources team. Responsibilities include recruitment, employee relations, health and safety, training, and other HR programs.

Core Accountabilities
  1. Communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations to internal stakeholders.
  2. Provide resolutions to employee relation issues with the assistance of the HR Manager (e.g., employee complaints and harassment allegations).
  3. Conduct weekly new hire orientations as needed.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with employment agencies and educational institutions.
  5. Conduct interviews, screen candidates, and recruit for mid-level, professional, and technical positions.
  6. Ensure the suitability of applicants for job positions.
  7. Develop and recommend policies and processes.
  8. Provide research support as requested.
  9. Organize and participate in recruitment fairs.
  10. Plan and coordinate staff events and recreational activities.
  11. Participate in Health and Safety meetings at dealerships.
  12. Ensure dealerships comply with Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
  13. Keep job descriptions current.
  14. Provide information and assistance internally and externally via phone, email, and in person.
  15. Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management.
  • Minimum 3 years of HR work experience.
  • Experience or education in employment law or related regulations.
  • Experience in recruitment.
  • Automotive industry experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of multiple HR areas is preferred.
  • Ability to provide beneficial HR-related recommendations.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Professional, tactful, and sensitive interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
