Job description

Join us to apply for the Human Resources Generalist role at Activate Games.

Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are looking to expand our team with a Human Resources Generalist. A successful applicant will support the HR team through policy compliance, recruitment, HR systems, and reporting.

The incumbent will have key responsibilities in policy development and implementation, recruitment and selection, performance management, employee relations, compensation administration, training and development, and special projects as needed. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research legislative requirements and assess compliance across Canada and the U.S.
  • Prepare reports and analysis on job evaluation, pay equity legislation, and reporting requirements.
  • Update policies and ensure proper tracking of compliance training, supporting administration of employee requests and leaves.
  • Audit HRIS and SharePoint folders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure communication between Payroll and HRIS systems is consistent.
  • Develop HR metrics reports and provide data-driven insights.
  • Assist with team-building activities and event support.
  • Analyze employee surveys and develop training presentations.
  • Maintain and update job profiles, interview guides, and job postings.
  • Prescreen candidates, coordinate interviews, and manage onboarding and offboarding processes.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma in HR Management or related field, in progress or completed.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (Advanced).
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and legislation.
  • Creative, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
