Trophy Foods Inc. in Mississauga, ON, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR activities across the company.

You will guide employees and supervisors on policies, manage recruitment, onboarding, and labor relations, and help ensure safety, quality, and customer service standards. The role involves maintaining HR data in ADP and SharePoint, analyzing people metrics, and partnering with payroll.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management.
  • Two to four years of generalist HR experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and must be detail oriented.
  • Experience in analysis and reporting; ability to identify trends and drive improvement.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; Excel at an intermediate/advanced level; knowledge of HR/payroll systems is an asset.
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal employment laws.
  • Collaborative, professional team player with tact, diplomacy and ethics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and cross-cultural awareness.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and take initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, workplace expectations, and employee relations matters.
  • Assist with labour and employee relations activities and ensure proper processes and records.
  • Prepare corrective action documentation and ensure consistent application of policies.
  • Ensure compliance of policies and procedures.
  • Assist with workplace investigations and attendance monitoring.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports and data using ADP and other HR systems.
  • Collaborate with Payroll on changes and maintain personnel records.
  • Manage SharePoint libraries for HR and Supervisory teams.
  • Support social compliance audits and HR projects.

Human Resources Generalist

This position is for an existing vacancy and offers the opportunity to:

Shift & Working Hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, may change depending on business demands

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Employee Relations
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, workplace expectations, and employee relations matters.
  • Support labour and employee relations activities by helping supervisors address concerns fairly, consistently, and in accordance with established processes.
  • Work with Supervisors to prepare constructive corrective action documentation and ensure proper processes are adhered to and records are kept.
  • Advise and ensure consistency on the interpretation and operational application and legal compliance of corporate policies, programs, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Assist with workplace investigations related to employee concerns, performance, and policy violations, escalating complex matters as appropriate.
  • Review and monitor daily attendance, following up on patterns and culpable absenteeism.
Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer preparation, and new hire documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure new employees receive required information, training, forms, and introductions in a timely and organized manner.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment, onboarding, and employee records in accordance with company procedures and privacy requirements.
Disability Management
  • Coordinate Short-Term Disability (STD), leave, and accommodation cases in partnership with employees, supervisors, third-party providers, and the HR Manager.
  • Support employees through the disability process, ensuring clear communication and timely documentation.
  • Provide supervisors and employees with information on disability, leave, and return-to-work processes, promoting timely communication and safe reintegration.
Other
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports, employee data, and records using ADP and other HR systems.
  • Collect, analyze, and report relevant HR data and analytics to support decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Payroll on changes (ie. rate changes, schedule changes, etc.) and personnel records.
  • Manage the SharePoint libraries for the HR department as well as the Supervisory team.
  • Assist and prepare for social compliance customer audits.
  • Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, audit preparation, employee communications, and other initiatives as assigned.
  • Promote and demonstrate a safe and inclusive workplace by addressing non-compliant and unsafe behaviours.
  • Other such duties as may be assigned.
Experience, Qualifications, and Educational Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management.
  • Two to four years of generalist Human Resources experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and must be detail oriented.
  • Experience in analysis and reporting. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations to drive continuous improvement in HR practices.
  • A high degree of proficiency with MS Office, with intermediate to advanced knowledge in Excel. Working Knowledge of HR systems and payroll systems is an asset.
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborative, professional team player with judgement to handle sensitive situations with tact, diplomacy, and high ethical standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, and cross‑cultural awareness.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment and take initiative and ownership for a wide range of responsibilities.
