Job Title: HR Generalist
Department: HR
Role Purpose: This role works closely with management and employees to implement and administer HR programs and initiatives. This role is focused on various HR areas, including employee relations, talent management, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits administration, HRIS management, health and safety, and compliance.
Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of the full-cycle recruitment process including internal and external job postings, application review, pre-screening and conducting interviews with candidates.
- Responsible for all candidate correspondence and follow-up, including getting timely feedback from hiring managers and communicating next steps to candidates.
- Partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing requirements and provide advice on job postings, interviewing, and candidate selection.
- Identify recruitment opportunities such as creating and maintaining connections with academic institutions to help build a talent pipeline.
- Manage employee relations issues, conducting investigations, and making recommendations towards resolution and liaison with management.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
- Chair Microart’s Social committee.
- Preparation and delivery of new employee orientation and training.
- Conduct exit interviews and coordinate employee transition activities.
- Manage Occupational Health & Safety including preparing WSIB reports.
- Provide support to employees on HR related issues such as company benefits, internal applications, references and leave of absence.
- Take on ad-hoc projects, analysis of HR data and reports as required.
- Stay up to date with applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Review, update and implement company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of HR procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Plan, deliver and maintain records of employee training and development.
- Assist with HR administration as required.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or post secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR/administrative related work experience.
- Prior experience in recruitment.
- Proficient usage of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Capable of handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proactive self-starter with ability to handle multiple projects with various deadlines.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities with a strong attention to detail.
- Prior experience using Dayforce HCM an asset.
- CHRP or pursuing CHRP designation.
