Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.


Position

Human Resources Generalist, Edmonton – 12 months maternity leave coverage

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources this position will be based in the Edmonton Airport office, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Support the site-based HR staff in the performance of their duties; including but not limited to, investigations, goal establishment, probationary management, performance adherence and reporting functions;
• Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement;
• Conduct organizational assessments and implement interventions to improve team dynamics and collaboration;
• Identify potential risks related to HR practices and propose mitigation strategies;
• Assist in developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and process that aligned with B2Gold’s philosophy, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements;
• Participate in workforce planning activities to anticipate and address staffing requirements;
• Maintain performance management systems, including setting objectives, facilitating annual performance evaluations, providing feedback to employees;
• Coordinate onboarding and site induction programs for new hires, ensuring a positive and engaging employment experience; and
• Update HRIS and related systems, including Masterfile maintenance, ensuring accuracy of records.


Desired Competencies and Requirements

• Three (3) years of Human Resources experience, preferably in the construction, mining, or production industry sectors;
• Post Secondary Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or Management Studies;
• Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) candidate designation is an asset; and
• Demonstrated capability adding, modifying, and removing moderate complete dataset in information programs with a high degree of accuracy with a preference for those familiar with Enterprise Level Human Resources Information Systems.
