BWXT Medical is hiring aHuman Resources Coordinator (6-Month Contract) at our production facility in Kanata, ON.

Location: 447 March Road, Kanata, ON (Hybrid role)

JOB PURPOSE:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides direction and assistance to employees and managers and supports assigned areas of Human Resources for the BWXT Medical Ltd. business group in Kanata and Vancouver. This role assists HR manager with day-to-day activities and acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Oracle CBS HR.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Point person for internal and external HR-related inquiries and requests, providing assistance or redirecting questions as required
  • Oracle HRIS expert in all system-related actions including timecard issues/blocks, entering new employees, vacation and excess leave carryover, and creating/managing HR accounts
  • Ensure confidentiality of all sensitive material and manage confidential information with sound judgment and decision-making
  • Set up and maintain confidential employee records including personnel files and payroll informationPrepare and coordinate administrative activities for new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations
  • Lead onboarding processes and activities for new employees, including sessions on Oracle, PTO, health benefits, pensions, company information, and internal setup (IT equipment, desks, announcements)
  • Respond to employment verification requests and employee inquiries related to benefits, pension, leaves of absence, and payroll
  • Provide recruiting support, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer creation (in SuccessFactors), and onboarding coordination
  • Support management and employees in the application and integration of HR policies, procedures, and practices for both union and non-union groups
  • Provide guidance on organizational change and staffing effectiveness
  • Educate employees on benefits, policies, procedures, and paid time off, and direct them to related resources
  • Investigate and advise on concerns related to policies, practices, or contractual matters
  • Collaborate with leaders to maintain a positive work environment
  • Manage renewals for contract employees (Agency and Timberline)
  • Support annual Employment Equity submissions and annual year-end PTO carry-over process
  • Assist with internal investigations when needed
  • Provide backup support for the HR Generalist and Recruiter
  • Lead and assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare quarterly HR metrics and ad-hoc reports; assist with annual performance review data for union employees
  • Perform employee offboarding, including exit interviews and last-day processes
  • Own and update Oracle training manuals; provide system training and respond to Oracle-related inquiries from employees and manager

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of a Human Resources Program or related program in business.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, written and oral
  • Software proficiency in MS Office Suite and general computer proficiency
  • Customer focus with excellent attention to detail
  • Efficient time management skills with the ability to balance numerous requirements.
  • Ability to learn quickly, multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, specifically Oracle and SAP

The base salary range for this position inOntario (CA-ON)at the start of employment is expected to be between $64,000.00 and $90,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives anoffer of employment.
