Job summary

A leading design and engineering firm is seeking an HR Coordinator for a one-year term. In this role, you will provide vital coordination support to the HR and Recruitment teams across Canada. Responsibilities include managing HRIS, welcoming new hires, and assisting with employee inquiries. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of HR experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and knowledge of Canadian HR practices. This is a temporary, full-time position based in Metro Vancouver.

We are looking to fill a one-year term for an HR Coordinator on our Human Resources team. If you are highly self-motivated, eager for new challenges, and enjoy a fast-paced work environment, this may be the opportunity for you!

In the role of Human Resources Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Provide coordination support to our Canadian Human Resources and Recruitment teams with HR related tasks
  • Act as primary point of contact for employees across all of Canada, helping with interpretation of company policies and procedures
  • Update and maintain our HRIS and employee files by entering employment changes related to the entire employee life cycle.
  • Assist with the recruitment and onboarding process, including creating new-hire requisitions in our applicant tracking system, coordinating onboarding with hiring managers, conducting weekly orientation sessions.
  • Run and prepare HR reports and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Understand basic HDR benefit plan provisions and assist with employees' benefit-related questions. Oversee the long-term service award program, as well as the administration of medical leave of absences.
  • Liaise with other departments, including Payroll and Benefits, L&OD, Global Mobility as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist with various HR activities, including performance review and talent management processes, employee engagement and wellness initiatives, terminations, etc.
  • Assist Area HR Team with various auditing/reporting requirements.
  • Champion HR and Employee engagement initiatives, drive process improvements, and ensure best-in-class HR service to clients
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-5 years' relevant HR experience supporting multiple individuals in fast-paced, diverse environment
  • Knowledge of Canadian Human Resources processes and best practices
  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent related experience
  • A bility to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience with HR databases, HRIS and applicant tracking systems
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple ongoing tasks
  • Knowledge of Canadian Employment Legislation across the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Newfoundland.
  • CHRP designation, completed or in progress
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of employees and management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word and Excel or similar programs
  • Basic understanding of business activities
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
