Position Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator role is responsible for providing administrative support to NCC’s Human Resources department. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator is the first point of contact for employees with Human Resources questions and concerns and is responsible for ensuring that all questions raised are either immediately resolved or are forwarded to the appropriate colleague for a response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support employees, and compliance regarding HR-related questions or concerns, including benefits, payroll, HR policies, and general inquiries.
  • Prepare employment letters, contracts, and documentation for new hires and internal changes
  • Support payroll processes by ensuring timely submission of employee data and changes
  • Maintain employee records in the HRIS and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist with internal communications and HR-related announcements
  • Provide additional support to employees, particularly during periods of extended absence (parental / maternity / disability / accommodations)
  • Provides administrative support for departmental expense management
  • Coordinating bi-weekly team meetings and their agendas
  • Assist with identifying ongoing improvement and streamlining opportunities of HR systems, processes, and workflows.
  • Partners with Talent Management and Onboarding
  • Support on other HR initiatives and special project
  • Supports service award milestone program
  • Communicates NCC employee offerings to employees

Position Requirements

  • Ability to speak / read / write French is a requirement
  • College Diploma in human resources, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in Human Resources department
  • Detail oriented with high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Solid customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Problem solving skills – good understanding as to what issues need to be elevated.
  • Technical competency with HRIS systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) with emphasis on MS Excel (intermediate level).
  • Diplomacy and confidentiality in dealing with situations of a sensitive nature
