Job Description

Driven by a love of plants, Pure Sunfarms is one of Canada’s largest, single-site, licensed producers of high-quality, greenhouse-grown cannabis based in BC’s Fraser Valley (Delta). We are proud to bring together individuals from a wide breadth of industries, backgrounds, and experiences, and promote a culture of belonging where everyone can truly be themselves – in every form of expression that is natural to them. This is our priority and guiding light at Pure Sunfarms, driving our uncompromising approach to quality and success within the Canadian recreational cannabis market. We believe our differences are our strengths, letting us look at cannabis in a whole new light.

As part of our people team, our HR Coordinator is a solution-focused, detail-oriented professional who is integral to managing our employee lifecycle and ensuring our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and people practices are optimized. You will work closely with the team to support our business, playing a key role in maintaining the integrity of our HRIS and time & attendance systems and processes. You are organized, excel at bridging people, processes, and technology, and are curious about how things connect, enabling you to streamline processes and ensure our people data tells our story.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
HRIS Systems & Data Management
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of our HRIS system and workflows, understanding our business and staying up to date with trends and best practices to optimize our people systems.
  • Assist with evaluating, testing, and configuring our HRIS systems to ensure our data, information, and reports accurately reflect our people and support our processes.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve our systems and practices to support our employee and contractor lifecycles.
  • Support creating training resources and delivering training on our people systems to enable team success.
  • Partner with the HR team to create and maintain up-to-date business processes, training materials, HRIS system documentation, user guides, presentations, manuals, and other resources.
  • Work with the business to ensure profiles are configured correctly and our timekeeping systems support timely and accurate processing.
  • Create, organize, and maintain employee records.
People Coordination
  • Set up new hires, process changes, and terminations to support business processes.
  • Support recruitment and employer branding activities, including background checks, drafting offer packages, scheduling interviews, and related tasks.
  • Support activities related to employees’ and contractors’ lifecycle, updating records and facilitating changes to reflect each team member’s story.
  • Assist new hires and contract workers with orientations, training, and ensuring completion of all required training.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects such as collecting employee feedback and conducting compensation reviews.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, claims, and related queries.
  • Support payroll processing by reviewing and verifying timesheets.
OTHER DUTIES

At Pure Sunfarms, we are all growers at heart. Our plants and processes require in-person care and attention to ensure we deliver the best to our consumers. Therefore, other duties may arise as we work together to support all business activities from seed to sale.

This role is on-site, requiring work at our facility at all times in an operational or support capacity.

YOUR BRAND, YOUR STORY

We know you are passionate about HR Operations, Payroll, and Labour Relations, but we want to learn more about your experiences and story. You are good at the following:

  • 2+ years’ experience as an HR Coordinator with extensive HRIS experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an HR coordinator or similar HR role.
  • Skilled with MS Office, HRIS systems (experience with ADP Workforce Now is a bonus), and related technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, confident in internal and external communication.
  • A positive attitude with a passion for ensuring an exceptional employee experience.
  • Punjabi language skills are considered an asset.
  • CPHR designation or progress towards it is an asset.
  • Customer-focused, with strong relationship-building skills across teams and employees.
  • High integrity and ability to handle sensitive employee information.
  • Must pass a RCMP criminal record check and obtain security clearance.

At Pure Sunfarms, we are committed to diversity and inclusion. We look forward to learning how your experiences can contribute to our team and the cannabis industry.
