Job description

Position Overview

Provides human resources management services and advice to internal clients and stakeholders to support strategy, planning, and operations by advising on human resources solutions with current knowledge of industry trends and legal requirements.

Inspires all levels of leadership to develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence to be influential leaders.

Provides leadership advice to the assigned client groups in all areas of an effective and efficient human resources program focused on labour and employee relations, recruitment and succession planning, employee development, performance management, employee engagement and recognition, human resources information management, productivity metrics, and regulatory and standards compliance.

Experience

  • 5 years of progressive experience providing generalist human resources management support to management in a unionized environment, preferably in a large multi-enterprise and/or public sector organization; experience working in the health sector is an asset.

Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)

  • Undergraduate degree in human resources, or in a relevant discipline combined with a post-graduate certificate in human resources management from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification / Licensure / Registration

  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation with current membership in good standing or equivalent is preferred.
  • Certifications in project management, human resources, change management, and quality processes are assets.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities as described in the framework including a passion for customer service.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
  • Interruptions to respond to questions from executives and partner organizations are common, requiring managing multiple priorities and competing demands; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
