Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks an HR Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor and strategic collaborator. You will align people strategies with business goals, foster an inclusive culture, and ensure a smooth employee experience across the organization and the projects you support.

You will partner with leaders to identify capabilities, provide guidance on HR matters, and lead initiatives to boost engagement while ensuring compliance with employment laws and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or equivalent field.
• 1–2 years of experience as a generalist in HR.
• Ability to take clear, concise meeting minutes in sensitive environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to capture decisions and follow-ups.
• Identify high-risk or sensitive matters and escalate as needed.
• Proficient in Excel for data management and reporting.
• Knowledge of unionized environments and investigations is a plus.

Overview

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you'll be a trusted advisor and strategic collaborator, helping shape a workplace where people thrive. You'll work closely with leaders and teams to align people strategies with business goals, foster a culture of inclusion and growth, and ensure seamless employee experience across the organization and project that you will be supporting.

Your role

• Collaborate with business leaders to identify and prioritize organizational capabilities, behaviors, and structures that support strategic goals.
• Build strong, credible relationships with internal stakeholders, offering expert guidance on all things people related.
• Provide thoughtful coaching on talent management, performance, recruitment, terminations, compensation, development, and change management.
• Partner with the Recruitment team and hiring managers to support staffing plans, project assignments and talent redeployment.
• Support on different processes related to Labour Laws, disciplinary actions, employee life cycle, and operational activities.
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of AtkinsRéalis policies and new processes that enhance operational effectiveness.
• Anticipate business needs and deliver HR solutions aligned with our mission, vision, and values.
• Lead initiatives that boost employee engagement, strengthen culture, and retain top talent.
• Stay current on employment legislation and ensure compliance with government reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement strategies that foster open communication and positive working relationships

About you

• Recent Bachelor's Degree in Human ressources from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• 1-2 years maximum of proven experience as a generalist in HR.
• Demonstrated ability to take clear, concise, and impartial meeting minutes in sensitive or confidential environments.
• Strong attention to details with ability to capture key discussion points, decisions and follow up actions.
• Identify and elevate complex, high‑risk, or sensitive matters to Sr. HRBP in a timely manner.
• Strong data management skills with proficiency in Excel.
• Knowledge of unionized environment, investigations, grievance and will be considered an asset
• Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to collaborate, negotiate, facilitate, and resolve conflicts.
• Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and organizational development.
• A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Collaborative team player with demonstrated professional and emotional maturity and judgment to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy, tact, and high ethical standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills.
• French oral and written skills will be considered a strong asset as the role interacts across Canada.

Expected compensation

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $80,000 - $95,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also considered in our offers.
