Reporting to the Recruitment/Staff Development Supervisor or designate, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will be responsible for liaising and partnering with all levels of management in their efforts to support the operational and strategic objectives of the Corporation by providing a full range of value-added Human Resources services. This role acts as the single point of contact for the employees and managers in the various business units they are responsible for and proactively supports the delivery of HR Processes at the client’s side. Manages complex and difficult HR Projects cross-functionally and is focused on building a strong business relationship with their internal client groups. Works closely with their clients to actively identify gaps, proposes and implement changes necessary to cover risks, plus assists in recruiting the talents and resources for the internal client. Facilitates meetings with the client management team to bring HR best practices and solutions for its employees and acts as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in the people management aspects of their client teams. Works closely in identifying succession plans for talents and job positions and challenges the organizational structure of the internal client and proposes changes. Is seen as the conduit to acquire the necessary knowledge and responses for its clients related to employment law, corporate policies and procedures, collective agreements, etc., handling multiple recruitments, collective agreement interpretation, understanding compensation and benefit plans, policy and procedure application. This position is a primary contact with assigned clients, supporting managerial decisions, providing proactive and strategic advice and solutions crafted to meet current and future HR related business needs. This position will have a detailed understanding of their client’s business and the issues and challenges they face, providing insight and feedback on program designs and trends to assist with the challenges. The HRBP is knowledgeable with respect to the overall business environment and strategic direction and functions as both an internal consultant and primary HR contact for their client groups. This role is responsible for developing and implementing fact-based and analytically sound HR plans that support the overall business strategy for client groups and works in collaboration with specialists from the broader Human Resources team. Lends support and provides input on corporate human resources programs and projects including performance management and core values initiatives, supports the principles of best practices to ensure the effective and consistent delivery of human resources services to our clients. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of current job postings, ensures vacancies are valid and in line with the approved budget details for the business unit, provides direction as it relates to recruitment processes and succession plans, provides input and feedback in terms of applicant testing and assists with the development of interview questions, leads and is an active participant in the interview process and provides input and guidance in terms of candidate selection. Ensures the on-boarding process of potential new hires is completed in an efficient and timely manner, conducting reference checks and ensuring all other necessary documentation is completed as appropriate. Local travel is required to meet with business unit management to discuss Human Resources related matters and to conduct interviews; Maintains amiable relations with the public and fellow staff. Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program. Will perform other related duties as required.
NOTE: HRBP will be assigned to specific clients and consequently duties will vary depending on needs. HRBP should expect to be rotated to create backup and encourage creativity.
