The Job Summary :

The Human Resources Business Partner plays an integral role in supporting the organization’s leaders by integrating Human Resources best practices and programs into their business. The HRBP provides comprehensive Human Resource support, including employee/labour relations, leave management, workforce planning, and talent management. The role is essential in executing our people initiatives, providing excellent internal customer support, and driving HR process excellence and improvement.

Key Accountabilities & Success Criteria :
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing advice and guidance on all people-related matters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with leaders, unions, and stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of programs aligned with the people plan.
  • Facilitate change management processes for successful organizational transitions.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Interpret and implement policies, collective agreements, and procedures, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on performance management, grievances, and attendance issues.
  • Support accommodation, disability management, and wellness initiatives.
  • Assist in recruitment, retention, and compensation activities.
  • Provide expertise in diversity and equity within Human Resources functions.
  • Collect and report data for strategic planning and reporting.
  • Research HR practices and share insights with leaders and staff.
  • Develop and deliver HR training and educational programs in collaboration with the HR team.
Qualifications :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CHRP designation is an asset.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in Labour Relations, preferably in healthcare.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment law (e.g., Labour Relations Act, Human Rights Code, OHSA, etc.).
Skills & Abilities :
  • Experience with grievance handling, conflict management, discipline, and attendance management, as well as talent development.
  • Knowledge of organizational development and change management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and influence skills.
  • Leadership, coaching, and consulting capabilities.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with tact and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, HRIS, and other HR systems.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and collaborative partnerships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to change.
