Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of work experience in Human Resources.
  • Automotive/Dealership and/or Retail experience is an asset.
  • Certified HR designation or working towards it is preferred.

Your area of focus.

AutoCanada is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to provide expert people management support, advice, and consultation in collaboration with leaders and Team Members. This role will lead projects to improve policies and HR processes while offering HR expertise to two high-profile, national portfolios : our Corporate Office and Collision teams. These portfolios support all levels of leadership, management, and Team Members, covering topics such as talent acquisition, employee engagement, employee relations, coaching, workforce planning, and performance management. Additionally, this role will serve as the HR project lead for large-scale initiatives in both Corporate Office and Collision.

What drives your day-to-day?

  • Partner with senior regional leaders, people managers, and employees to provide consultative HR advice that supports the strategic growth of the business.
  • Provide timely information and education on HR issues to all levels of the organization.
  • Understand business needs and collaborate with the P&C team to develop solutions.
  • Provide HR expertise in areas such as feedback, employee relations, training and development, employee coaching, and compensation.
  • Act as a change agent and culture champion while supporting and representing the organization.
  • Serve as the HR project lead for large-scale initiatives within the Corporate Office and Collision centres.
  • Assist senior leaders and people managers in developing departmental employee engagement action plans that foster employee satisfaction.
  • Educate, coach, and partner with managers on performance management and employee development goals.
  • Champion a culture of excellence where people feel engaged and inspired to deliver top business results.
  • Collaborate with the P&C team on projects and ensure the successful completion of quarterly and annual objectives.
  • Develop and communicate metrics to identify growth opportunities for the department and organization.
  • Lead employee conduct investigations in consultation with the P&C Compliance Manager and / or team members.
  • Educate team members on compensation practices, including performance feedback, performance calibration, and career transitions.
  • Conduct regional and senior leadership exit interviews, providing analysis and recommendations to senior leadership for change activities.

What Are The Must-haves…

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, organizational development, or equivalent work experience.
  • Automotive / Dealership and / or Retail experience is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience leading and executing projects is an asset.
  • Certified HR designation or working towards it is considered an asset.
  • Work experience or education in employment law or other regulatory areas is an asset.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, able to work comfortably and provide counsel to all levels of leaders and employees.
  • Ability to collaborate and work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Adaptable to a consistently changing environment.
  • Ability and experience to make well-informed decisions based on a broad human resource knowledge base.
  • Strong proficiency in using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience and ability to work with HRIS & ATS software (e.g., Workday, ADP) are considered an asset.
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Availability to travel up to 50% of the time.
