Job description

Parkland County has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Human Resources Business Partner position in the Employee Services department. Under the direction of the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner serves as an internal business partner and champions the organization’s core values of Service, Teamwork, Attitude, Respect and Safety. This position provides human resources advisory services, consultation, and assistance to all levels of staff and leadership. This position will oversee talent management activities of assigned portfolio and will support organizational enhancements including engagement and culture initiatives. The duties of this position include interpreting, applying and advising on collective agreements and labour relations practices for the assigned business portfolio.

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
  • Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources or Labour Relations is required. A post-secondary degree in Human Resources is considered an asset.
  • Formal workplace investigations and disability management training is considered an asset.
  • Completion of or working towards completion of CPHR designation. RPR and CTMP designations are considered assets.
  • A minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience working in a human resources environment including strategic talent management and labour relations experience with the ability to provide advice to all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to interpret and advise on HR applicable legislation and collective agreements.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, multi-task efficiently and handle information in a sensitive manner is required.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office suite and the ability to navigate various HR software for applicant tracking, learning management and employee records.
  • Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license and ability to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
A starting annual salary of $90,500 to $97,900, based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
