· Provide advice andguidance to managers and employees on all Human Resources policies, proceduresand practices, and explains their application in a variety of situations.

· Provide support andadvise managers in the employee performance management process, includingperforming workplace investigations, and situations requiring disciplinaryaction or discharge.

· Manages labour relationsissues and collective agreement processes, such as grievances and arbitration,with support from the Manager, Human Resources when necessary.

· Provide support andadvise hiring managers or other members of the Human Resources team involved inthe recruitment and selection process to ensure policies, procedures andcollective agreements are followed.

· As required, leads allaspects of the recruitment and selection process including developing andmaintaining job posting documents and recruiting tools, conducting interviews,checking candidate references, making salary recommendations, and following upwith candidates as necessary.

· Administer sick leave,attendance management, early intervention and return to work programs.

· Develop and encourageaccommodated work arrangements with employees and managers.

· Provide support toensure effective and efficient operation of Joint Health and Safety Committeesand Representatives.

· Directly support managersand employees with incident reports and other health and safety issues.

· Conduct ergonomicscreenings for employee workstations and recommend modifications as appropriateincluding equipment orders and altering daily work routines.

· Administer WorkplaceSafety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims in consultation with the manager whennecessary.

· Support or lead variousHuman Resources improvement initiatives internally.

· Participate in routineand ad hoc data collection and reporting.

· Experience in aunionized environment, preferably in Healthcare or the Public Sector.

· Relevant post-secondaryeducation preferred in Human Resources, Commerce, Business, Psychology orrelated discipline.

· Possession of, orprogression towards, a Certified Human Resources Professional or Leaderdesignation (CHRP/CHRL).

· Knowledge of humanresources principles, best practices and relevant legislation includingEmployment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and SafetyAct, etc.

· Knowledge of the varioushuman resources functions such as recruitment, performance management,attendance support, labour relations, and health and safety.

· Highly self-directedwith strong collaboration and conflict resolution skills.

· Positive professionaldisposition, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a superiorcustomer service mindset.

· Exceptional relationshipbuilding and facilitation skills to successfully coach, educate, negotiate andpositively influence others to use effective human resources practices.

· Ability to deal withhighly confidential information, sensitive issues and emotional situations withdiscretion and sound judgement.

· Excellent listening,reading comprehension, and critical thinking skills to interpret, assess thesignificance of, and retain information communicated verbally and in writing.

· Strong planning andorganizational skills with the ability to be highly flexible and adaptable tobalance multiple complex issues and competing priorities simultaneously.

· Proven proficiency witha variety of computer programs (E.g. Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS).

· Must have valid driver’slicense and access to a vehicle.

· Ability to work in ahybrid environment managing relationships and processes both in-person andvirtually.

· Advanced oral andwritten proficiency in English is required.

Salary: Non-Union Band 5 - $81,664 to $97,511
