Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our Recycling team in Regina. This is a temporary position to cover a maternity leave, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and sustainability-focused environment. As an HRBP, you will play a key role in supporting our team members and leadership by aligning HR strategies with business goals, fostering a positive workplace culture, and providing expert guidance on a range of HR matters. This is a hybrid position with flexibility to work from home 3 days a week.

  • Work closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Ensure the human resources functions’ priorities and efforts are customer centric and aligned to the execution of the business strategy
  • Provide consultative support to management for the consistent and appropriate application of policies and procedures
  • Recycling HR team expert for Workday and Kronos systems, including data and position management, and perform other administrative or record keeping tasks
  • Participate in the interview process for hourly positions, process pre-employment and conduct onboarding for all recycling locations
  • Conduct workplace investigations relating to employee complaints, misconduct allegations, and policy violations
  • Disability management for US recycling locations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, management or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Human Resources Business Partner within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Experience in human resources practices including: performance management, leadership development, employee relations, recruitment, change management and organizational development
  • Previous working experience with Workday and Kronos is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work under pressure and handle multiple highly sensitive issues simultaneously while managing competing priorities and stakeholders
  • Comfort working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
