The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Operations in this critical role as HR Business Partner (HRBP), you will be the point person supporting our Medavie Health Services (MHS) operations teams who provide patient care through ground and air ambulance services, medical communications, mobile integrated health/community paramedicine programs, 911 Public Safety, 811 Telehealth, home health care, as well as clinical training. MHS is the largest contracted provider of emergency medical services in Canada with 4,300 health care professionals in six provinces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will provide proactive and effective labour relations consulting services supporting internal partners by developing a solid understanding of all HR programs, policies, practices and collective agreement. These services, including grievance handling, collective agreement interpretation, project support, and ongoing consultation to all levels of leadership
  • Use your business acumen to understand the MHS Operations world and support Leaders in developing people strategies, and establish and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with internal clients, stakeholders and bargaining units
  • Work proactively with Leaders who may seek your advice on HR challenges related to behavior, performance and attendance management, talent differentiation and retention, collective agreement, legislation, and policy interpretation

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in labor relations, Human Resources Management or related field
  • 7 years’ experience in an HR role delivering a wide range of HR services in a complex, multi-union environment
  • A Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR) designation
  • Experience with Workday would be considered an asset

  • You are accountable and detailed oriented when it comes to ensuring compliance with our guidelines, legislations and collective agreement
  • You have a vested interest in the labor relations and participating in the renewal of a collective agreement
