Job description

Role:

The Human Resources Coordinator works directly with HR Manager and closely with operations team to ensure all staff and personnel matters pertaining to the plant operations at the facility including, but not limited to recruitment and selection, conditions of employment, staff training, absenteeism control programs, and other administrative tasks. He/she also provides advice and support to Management to ensure compliance with employment and labour laws.


Responsibilities
  • Assist with Recruitment process, including, interviews, orientation, set up of new plant employees ensuring accurate data entry into Dayforce.
  • Providing HR support to plant management Team and plant employees.
  • Preparation and assisting with the delivering of various training presentations as required.
  • Supports with progressive discipline program as required.
  • Support in monitoring and maintaining attendance program, prepare letters etc.
  • Ensures HR strategies and initiatives are aligned with Company objectives.
  • Administers implementation plans in the areas of, employee relations and employee engagement.
  • Assists to ensure all job descriptions are kept up-to-date, accurate and compliant with relevant laws/regulations for all positions.
  • Assists managers and employees to effectively apply HR policies and programs to ensure consistency in interpretation and application.
  • Works closely with HR Manager, Plant Manager, HR team and Corporate HR,
  • Administer and ensure consistency with CA where applicable.
  • Employee and labour relations assist and support with employee concerns.
  • Ensures consistency of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support OH& S coordinator with WCB return to work process as required.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary diploma in Human Resources, or business or related field preferable.
  • Minimum 2 years of related administrative experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with Ceridian/Dayforce preferred.
  • Understanding of Employment Standards/labour law
  • High sense of urgency, well organized and able to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Highly proficient computer skills, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, when required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
