Job description

Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools welcomes applications for the position of Human Resources Assistant.

The Human Resources Assistant performs a wide variety of HR administrative duties while providing technical and general support within the department. Building strong relationships with multiple stakeholders in a complex unionized organization is pivotal to the position.

Desired Skills And Experience
  1. A relevant 2-year post-secondary diploma or certificate combined with 5 years of HR experience, ideally in a multi-union public sector.
  2. Knowledgeable with the Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, and Workers’ Compensation Act.
  3. Demonstrated ability to compose a variety of documents of confidential and complex nature using superior research skills, including HR statistical reports.
  4. A strong capacity to manage ever-changing priorities and high-volume workload.
