Job description

UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service is looking to hire a Human Resources Assistant.

Term: Salary/Pay: Permanent Full-time $70,948.80 – $80,953.60/Annually [Based on Education & Experience]

The Human Resources Assistant [HR Assistant] will assist the organization in successfully meeting its’ mission of providing culturally sensitive policing services to the UCCM police service area. The position is an administrative professional who will provide clerical and administrative support ensuring the efficient daily operation of the office, while operating within standard operating policies, procedures, and practices. The HR Assistant will have interactions with UCCM Anishnaabe personnel, vendors, and external stakeholders, etc.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Provide general human resources support;

• Assist HR in maintaining HR files and databases;

• Assist in fulfilling approved uniform and equipment requisitions;

• Participate and travel to various events and meetings to promote UCCM APS;

• Maintain working knowledge of applicable legislation, polices and procedures;

• Assist in recruitment and selection including preparing job postings, scheduling interviews and applicant testing, attending recruitment and community events, and manage inventory of promotional materials,

• Provide administrative support;

• Implement the organization’s marking plan; and

• Assist in quality assurance of the company’s image.

Your education and experience:

• Applicants must have a Certificate, Diploma and/or Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration and/or Office Administration or equivalent combination of education/work experience;

• Knowledge of Human Resources principles and previous experience in human resources is required.

Your skills include (but are not limited to):

• Knowledge of standards and policies related to effective records management

• Ability to handle multiple projects, meet multiple deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
