Job Description

This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department through the coordination and execution of human resources policies, procedures, and initiatives for the site.

  • Annual Salary: $47,000 - $51,000

Responsibilities

  • Maintain HCM and people database (updating personal and job-related information for new and existing employees).
  • Maintain hourly employee files, HR policies, and records on vacation, sick leave, bereavement, etc.
  • Obtain, track, and complete HR reports regarding absenteeism, performance management, and new employee probation evaluations.
  • Assist with attendance management by running monthly reports, determining disciplinary actions, coordinating employee letters, communicating with supervisors, and entering information into the system.
  • Assist in hiring hourly employees by coordinating with the Talent Acquisition Specialist, completing files, and setting up systems.
  • Manage tracking and inventory for service anniversary awards and gifts, and record receipt of PINs.
  • Coordinate and manage swipe cards for employees and contractors, assist in preparing employee events, and provide phone coverage in the absence of the receptionist.
  • Process new hires and terminations in the HR database.
  • Respond to general HR inquiries from employees and external contacts.
  • Perform general administrative duties including filing, scanning, and organizing records.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources or administrative roles.
  • Strong knowledge of HR functions and labor legislation is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HR systems preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Experience in unionized environments is an asset.
