Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are looking to expand our team with a Human Resource Generalist.

A successful applicant will support the HR team through policy compliance, recruitment, HR systems, and reporting. Key responsibilities include policy development and implementation, recruitment and selection, performance management, employee relations, compensation administration, training and development, and special projects as needed.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Duties and Responsibilities:
Compliance
  • Research legislative requirements and assess compliance across Canada and the U.S.
  • Prepare reports and analyses on job evaluation/pay equity legislation and reporting requirements.
  • Update policies and policy wording as needed.
  • Track compliance training and participate in rollout and execution.
  • Maintain accurate employee files, support administration of requests, leaves, protected leaves, and WCB claims.
HR Process and Systems
  • Audit HRIS and SharePoint folders for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure consistency between Payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Develop templates and reports on HR metrics; provide data-driven HR reports.
  • Assist with team-building activities and event support.
  • Analyze Employee Experience and Wellbeing survey results.
  • Create training presentations and track training completion.
Talent Acquisition and Retention
  • Maintain and update job profiles, interview guides, and create postings aligned with brand messaging.
  • Pre-screen candidates and update recruitment in HRIS.
  • Coordinate and participate in interviews.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientation.
The Qualifications:
  • Certificate or diploma in HR Management or related field, or in progress.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel (Advanced).
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quick learner, creative, self-motivated, detail-oriented, with multitasking ability.
