Just HR is conducting a search for a talented and motivated Human Resources Business Partner. This is a chance to shape how HR shows up. We are seeking someone who is looking to be visible, proactive, and connected to the community. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team playing an important role in the healthcare sector.
We’re looking for someone who thrives on building trust-based relationships on the ground, not just at a desk. Someone who can confidently engage with union reps, collaborate with Indigenous communities, and connect meaningfully with employees and leadership alike.
You’ll help create a people-first culture that balances compliance with innovation - helping the organization evolve while still doing right by its people. If you’re someone who’s known for being approachable, creative, and action-oriented, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Build strong, trust-based relationships across all levels of the organization—from the frontline to senior leadership—through a visible, hands-on HR presence.
- Provide practical HR support and guidance on day-to-day employee and labour relations matters, helping leaders navigate challenges with confidence and clarity.
- Work closely with union representatives, manage the day-to-day administration of collective agreements, and support the organization in preparing for negotiations and arbitrations.
- Lead or contribute to workplace investigations, including those involving human rights, employment standards, or other sensitive matters.
- Deliver relevant and engaging training sessions for leaders, supervisors, and staff on key HR topics including performance management, conflict resolution, and compliance.
- Design and implement effective hiring strategies for frontline roles, with a focus on community engagement and cultural inclusiveness.
- Guide and support managers in employee development, succession planning, and internal career growth conversations.
- Actively participate in business planning by aligning HR strategies with operational goals and identifying ways HR can contribute to service delivery and innovation.
- Co-lead occupational health and safety initiatives by contributing to risk prevention strategies and participating in joint OH&S committee activities.
- Help research, shape, and implement people policies and procedures that support the evolving needs of the organization and its workforce.
- Collaborate with Indigenous communities and other external stakeholders to strengthen diversity and inclusion across all aspects of the employee experience.
- Continuously identify opportunities for improvement in HR practices, processes, and systems to ensure they remain people-focused, efficient, and forward-thinking.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in unionized environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
- Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities and/or advancing reconciliation initiatives is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of BC employment law and collective bargaining agreements.
- Demonstrated success supporting and coaching leaders at various levels.
- Ability to navigate complexity with confidence, clarity, and empathy.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment that values innovation over bureaucracy.
- A CPHR designation or equivalent is an asset but not required.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Remuneration
- Salary Range: $90,000–$100,000 annually.
- Benefits: Comprehensive group benefits plan including extended health, dental, and wellness supports.
- Other: Opportunity to grow with a progressive and values-driven organization that prioritizes community engagement, innovation, and meaningful impact.
