Job summary

TAQA North is seeking an HSSE Summer Student to support corporate HSSE functions, including documentation reviews, program development, and field exposure in Alberta. The role reports to the Director of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment and offers learning opportunities through collaboration with field teams.

Based in Calgary, the 4‑month term runs May to August 2027. A strong safety mindset, detail orientation, and MS Office proficiency are essential, with travel to Alberta facilities

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency Management, Environmental Science/Management, Industrial Hygiene, Process Safety Engineering or related field.
• Must be returning to full‑time studies upon completion of the work term.
• Must attach transcript with application to be considered.
• Available to work full-time in Calgary office for the 4-month term.

Responsibilities

• Support HSSE corporate documentation reviews and updates.
• Assist in development and rollout of HSSE programs, policies, processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective HSSE processes.
• Maintain documentation in Bookshelf and support HSSE SharePoint redevelopment.
• Attend monthly safety meetings in field.
• Perform other HSSE team tasks as required.
