The HSEQ Geography Leader may manage a team of HSEQ Business Partners and Advisers across a geography / region. They are responsible for partnering with the local leadership to deliver HSEQ activities that enhance project delivery, our objectives and policy outcomes! This role incorporates the following tasks and activities :

The opportunity

  • Provide direction, support, and mentorship to team members.
  • Allocate resources efficiently and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Align HSEQ strategy with clients' strategic direction.
  • Communicate HSEQ plans into practical actions.
  • Grow external presence, make industry connections, and establish top client relationships.
  • Partner with local leaders to deliver HSEQ activities and provide technical advice for bids.
  • Promote high standards of work, ensure compliance, and manage local training provision.
  • Champion HSEQ systems, data integrity, and continual improvement.
  • Ensure quality in high-risk projects through audits and inspections.
  • Present audit findings, manage actions to completion, and review project quality plans.
  • Promote a culture of safety and manage H&S across the geography provide consistent safety advice and review risk assessments.
  • Manage local advice for fire safety, first aid, and emergency response.
  • Share incident prevention activities and manage investigations.
  • Promote environmental management systems and sustainability goals.
  • Collect and input environmental data, provide compliance advice, and manage non-compliant subcontractors.
  • Lead business continuity and emergency plans development.
  • Test emergency communication systems and conduct performance reviews against crisis / emergency scenarios.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 12 or more years of experience working in HSEQ in the construction / engineering consultancy industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any related field
  • Developing knowledge of all HSEQ fields.
  • Passion for driving HSEQ forward.
  • Professionally qualified in Quality, H&S, or Environmental Management is an asset.

Toronto Hiring Range – The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $165,000 to $180,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
