HSEQ Field Safety Coordinator (Nutrien Carseland) (Calgary, AB; Carseland, AB)

The Brock Group is a leading provider of industrial specialty services to clients around the world, with headquarters in Houston, TX, and operating units in Canada, the United States, and Latin America. With the Canadian head office in Nisku, the company supports routine maintenance, turnarounds, and industrial capital projects by providing services including scaffolding and work access, insulation, fireproofing, and asbestos abatement, for general maintenance, construction, turnarounds, and shutdowns to western Canadian producers.

We are looking for a Field HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) Coordinator with a minimum of five (5) years’ direct field experience in their related field and who has obtained their NCSO Certification. Their responsibilities shall be to provide safety leadership for site activities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient services to customers. The Field HSEQ Coordinator supports the health and safety activities of the Company through proactive involvement in the enforcement of safety programs to prevent unsafe conditions at their designated job location. The coordinator shall receive directives from the HSEQ Manager/Site Superintendent or Project Manager.

Shift is 4&3 - at our Nutrien Carseland Site 35 KM from Calgary.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 5 years of direct field experience in their related field; NCSO Certification is an asset.
  • National Construction Safety Officer Designation (NCSO); WHMIS 2015; CSTS-09; Valid Driver's license & reliable vehicle.
  • Craft knowledge in scaffolding, insulation, fireproofing, and painting (preferred) or equivalent plant operations/maintenance experience.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Essential Functions:
  • Promote and demonstrate the company's safety culture in all business aspects.
  • Conduct daily inspections and liaise with supervisors and crews regarding Health, Safety, and Environment matters.
  • Review and provide feedback on hazard and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all safety program requirements are followed by all personnel on site.
  • Support and guide field crews in using the Health and Safety Manual.
  • Participate in safety equipment demonstrations and emergency plan testing.
  • Coordinate and conduct orientation sessions.
  • Report safety issues daily to the Safety Manager or Lead.
  • Lead Toolbox and Weekly Safety meetings, providing guidance to supervisors.
  • Track incident trends and prepare incident reports.
  • Oversee project HSE requirements and promote safety awareness.
  • Manage safety records and training documentation.
  • Participate in safety audits and implement hazard analysis and safety incentive programs.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures and safety policies.
